ServAlp: Dynamics of socio-ecosystems in a changing world
Leader: Sandra LAVOREL
Ecosystem services are defined as the benefits that ecosystem provide directly or indirectly to society. They lay at the interface between ecosystems and their biodiversity on the one hand, and sociosystems on the other hand. Through their land use and management decisions humans stir the production of specific ecosystem services, but also impact biodiversity and other services. The objectives of ServAlp are to quantify ecosystem services and to understand the past, present and future interrelationships.
